India condemns attack on Shah-e-Cherag shrine in Iran

On Saturday, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) strongly condemned the terror attack at the Shah-e-Cherag shrine in Shiraz, Iran.


According to Al Jazeera, at least two children were killed in the attack on the Shah Cheragh Shrine in the southern Iranian city of Shiraz.

"We express our heartfelt condolences to the victims' families and the people of Iran," MEA Official Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi tweeted alongside the official statement.

According to IRNA, at least 15 people were killed and 40 others were injured in an attack on a Shia holy shrine in the southern Iranian city of Shiraz.


The incident, which took place early Wednesday evening at the Shah Cheragh Sanctuary, was committed by three armed men who entered the shrine, so far two people have been arrested, according to the report.
