Kamran Akmal urges Babar Azam to quit captaincy after World Cup

The Pakistan cricket team's dismal performance in the T20 World Cup has put the team, particularly captain Babar Azam, under scrutiny. Pakistan has only won one of its three matches in the tournament so far. Fans all over the world have panned captain Babar for his team's dismal performance and his never-ending struggle for runs.

In an unexpected suggestion for Babar Azam, his cousin Kamran Akmal said that the Pakistan captain should step down if he considers him his brother.

"If he considers me an elder brother, Babar Azam should step down as captain after this World Cup," Akmal told ARY News. He should only play as a player if you want him to score 25,000 or 22,000 runs. Otherwise, he will be put under extreme stress, and his performance will suffer.

"If Babar or my uncle realizes this, the former should resign as captain. He should concentrate on his game like Virat Kohli. He should play for a long time because there isn't another batsman like him."

Babar Azam and company have only won one of the three T20 World Cup matches they have played. Pakistan's first two games were losses to India and Zimbabwe, respectively. The team won its first match of the tournament, defeating the Netherlands by six wickets. Apart from winning all of their remaining matches, Pakistan's chances of progressing to the next round now hinge on a variety of other factors. They are currently fifth in Group 2's Points Table.
