'Why Only PFI, Govt Should Ban RSS Also', Congress MP Kodikunnil Suresh On PFI Ban

 |

While BJP allies in every state have applauded the decision to outlaw the Popular Front of India (PFI), Congress MP and Lok Sabha Chief Whip Kodikunnil Suresh stated that the PFI and RSS are equivalent and that the government should outlaw both.

He went on to ask, "Why only PFI?"

"We demand that RSS be outlawed as well. The prohibition of PFIs is not a solution; the RSS is also pushing Hindu communalism throughout the country. Because RSS and PFI are both equivalent, the government should outlaw both. Why just PFI?" According to news agency ANI, Congress leader Suresh stated..

The organisation and its allies, affiliations, or fronts have been banned for a term of five years, according to an official notification issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). Following repeated raids by various central and state agencies around the country on the Popular Front of India (PFI), the Centre on Tuesday proclaimed the organisation and its allies, affiliates, or fronts to be a "unlawful association."

As previously reported, the government highlighted its affiliation with the Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) and Jamat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), both of which are banned organisations.

The government also prohibited the Rehab India Foundation (RIF), Campus Front of India (CFI), All India Imams Council (AIIC), National Confederation of Human Rights Organizations (NCHRO), National Women's Front, Jr Front, Empower India Foundation, and Rehab Foundation, Kerala.
