The Queen’s Gambit included in AFI’s top 10 TV shows in 2020

The American Film Institute named its list of top 10 shows of 2020 and it features Netflix’s The Queen Gambit and Ted Lasso.

 
 The show changed the American culture in many ways.

The American Film Institute announced the list of top 10 TV shows of 2020 that left a mark on American society by enhancing the culture of the country.

The list includes names like Netflix’s The Queen Gambit, Disney Plus’ The Mandalorian and Apple TV’s Ted Lasso. Other shows included in the list were The Crown, Unorthodox, The Lovecraft Country, Bidgerton, Better Call Saul and The Good Lord Bird.

Quite significantly, the Queen’s Gambit has been gaining much more popularity which is a coming-of-age period drama, which has crossed the record for the most-watched series for Netflix with an estimate of 62 million people watching the show within the first four weeks of its release.

In the list, Soul was also included, an AFI included Pixar’s computer-animated fantasy comedy-drama. It also includes two of Chadwick Boseman’s final projects, including Black Bottom and Da 5 Bloods.

Netflix certainly dominated the list with four titles going to its name and Amazon also had its presence felt with titles like One Night in Miami and the Sound of Metal.

AFI also scheduled to host a virtual meeting for all the honorees on February 26 which will e streamed live on Youtube and AFI’s website.
