India’s 75th Anniversary ofIndependence celebrations inaugurated in Qatar with a wide range of programs. 75 weeks long celebrations collectively named by the government of India as ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ was officially started in Qatar initiated by Embassy of India in association with Indian Cultural Centre. 

Respecting the covid protocol the ceremony was limited to Embassy high rank officials and ICC Management Committee members. Chief Guest HE Dr. Deepak Mittal, honorable ambassador of India inaugurated the ceremony by lighting the traditional lamp followed by tree planting within the premises of Indian Cultural Centre. As part of the celebration 75 people were given free ICBF Life Insurance and the fund given to ICBF officials by ICC. Ceremony was followed by a virtual platform where Chief Guest HE Khalid Bin Ibrahim Al – Hamar, Director of Asian Affairs Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Qatar along with Honourable ambassador of India addressed the gathering.

As part of the Inaugural function ICC online streamed various cultural programs in association with ICC affiliated Organizations that depicted the rich culture, heritage and festivals of India.
