Logistics and supply chain are two interconnected concepts that play crucial roles in the movement and management of goods and services. While they are often used interchangeably, there are distinct differences between the two.
 |
Supply chain refers to the entire network of organizations, individuals, activities, resources, and technologies involved in the production, distribution, and delivery of goods or services to end consumers. It encompasses the entire lifecycle of a product, from sourcing raw materials to manufacturing, warehousing, transportation, and customer delivery. Supply chain management focuses on coordinating and optimizing these activities to ensure the smooth flow of goods and services from the point of origin to the point of consumption.

Logistics, on the other hand, is a subset of supply chain management and specifically deals with the planning, execution, and control of the physical movement and storage of goods. It involves activities such as transportation, inventory management, warehousing, packaging, and freight forwarding. Logistics aims to ensure that the right products are delivered to the right place, at the right time, and in the right condition, while minimizing costs and maximizing efficiency.
