"Cyclops" puppy was born with 1 eye, 2 tongues and no nose, died

​​​​​​A rare case of malformed puppy suffering from 'Cyclopia' was born on February 6  in California. A dog owner was shocked when her dog gave birth to a paled skin puppy with one eye in the middle of the head and two tongues and no nose. The puppy was struggling to breathe and drink milk from mother doggo. 

Amie de Martin, from the Aklan province in the Philippines, said her dog gave birth to two puppies. While the first puppy appeared normal, the other one was malformed.Amie fed him some puppy formula. She then took the pup to the vet hoping that it would survive.However, the puppy who was named Cyclops couldn't make it to the next day. He died around 10 pm that night as it could not breathe properly.

The vet said that Cyclops mother ate something toxic which might have caused it. However, Cyclops mother was a menopausal dog, that could also be the reason behind it. Amie preserved the puppy in a glass box instead of burying him in the garden.

Cyclopia is a rare condition which affects mammals. It can be caused by a genetic defect or toxins which affects brain development.
