No matter how we are growing, this generation gap will be a key charecterstic in every relation now and then. And then you must have observed, that sometimes small or big arguments take place in between your parents and you, isn't it? Have you ever wondered why does that happens?

Differences are there in terms of lifestyle, clothing, food habits, communication style, personality, and many other social. And parenting is no matter a difficult, yet enjoyable journey and interesting parts of our lives. So now the main question arises, that how an elder member can maintain transparent relations with their children? How can we make our kids to actually trust on us? We are growing old, how can we do those things which are kids are doing? All these questions will be answered but before that, you need to have a look on the given below checklist to ensure that your kid is safe and not doing these major things in his/her teenage:

1. TRYING TO CREATE FAKE IDENTITY JUST LIKE THEIR FRIENDS

Yes, doing things that our friends do can be actually interesting, but there is a difference between your choice. Taking up an example, sometimes your child may find drinking and smoking to be an impressive way of building up status in their society, and other times your kid may find doing part time jobs to be an interesting way of being independent. So here, your parenting will play a key role. You have to teach your kids to be able to see the difference between things which are harmful and safe for them. Make sure that your kids are able to take their independent decisions according to their age groups.

2. SPENDING TOO MUCH TIME ON ELECTRONIC DVICES

PARENTS pay attention!!!! It's not said you have to completely block your kids from mobile phones, laptops, televisions, etc. It's said that you have to set healthy limits for your kids, there is a difference. Teach your kids to build up real life strong relations with their family, friends, schoolmates, society, etc. and not just being indulged in the electronic world. Future is uncertain and in difficult times, real life people will help and not the electronic gadgets. Teach your kids the disadvantages of using too much of electronic gadgets, however using them in healthy limits is safe because some break and entertainment is also essential.

3. NOT DOING PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

Pay attention, because this is something really important. Teenage is an important stage in everyone's life. And this is the stage where your future can be built or destroyed. Therefore, to be healthy and active througout your life, you need to be physically active. It has a bag full of physical and mental benefits. It's not said that you have to hit the gym every time, but small steps can be healthy as well like walking, racing, cycling, swimming, karate, dancing, aerobics, skipping, running, jogging, etc. Make sure your body is not resting for long periods. Keep yourself moving and build your body for the future!!

4. TAKING STUDIES LIGHTLY

Kids and parents, this is the real-life saviour. You don't have to create mental pressure, whether you are a parent or child. As a parent, you should support your child if he/she is facing any kind of academic difficulties rather than comparing or doubting their abilities. As a child, you should understand the importance of being educated, because knowledge is that tree which never deteriorates but keeps on growing if you take care properly. You will be successful in life only because of your education, whether it is academic education, social education or any other kind of education.

5. THINKING THEY ARE ALWAYS RIGHT

Kids, I know this would sound a little sad for you, but it's a fact! We often think that our parents take our intentions wrong, but the actual problem is that you are unable to show your parents the real thing. If you want to build an unbreakable trust with your parents, then some simple changes in your behaviour will do wonders. Be humble and polite to your parents. If you think that you are right, then you should not be hesitant. If you are hesitant, then it's a hint that there is something wrong with your decision. Try to be open with your needs and ask for it calmly. And as parents, you should also try to understand your child's point of view and guide them towards making wise decisions.

Remember that communication and understanding are the two key elements for maintaining a healthy relationship between parents and children. Leave your work, mobiles, movies for a moment and make time to talk to each other and create long-lasting happy memories. It's a happy journey and start enjoying every small moment occurring ahead :)
