In the inaugration ceremony of US president Joe Biden and Vice president Kamala Harris there are many American entertainers attendees like Lady Gaga and jennifer lopez gives their 100 percent power packed performances. whereas the star performer of the event was Amanda Gorman who read the poem the hill we climb. She is the youngest American poet. Till now, she is the youngest person top deliver the recitation on an inaugural ceremony. She focuses only on issues like oppression, feminism, race, and marginalisation as well as african diaspora.

She was raised by her mother who was a teacher, named Joan Wicks, with her two siblings. She completed her studies in sociology from Harvard college and there she became the first person to be named national youth poet laureate in April 2017. She also has a book of poetry named The One For Whom Food Is Not Enough. In 2017, Gorman said she wants to be the president in 2036,  which she also said  the same in her inaugural poem.

Amanda read a thought-provoking poem which she wrote for the occasion called "The Hill We Climb" in Washington DC. The poem tells about the resilience of democracy and the need for unity, a theme close to the new president’s heart.
