Naval said that. It’s an insightful tweet.

You can’t possibly rise above the quality of the information in your brain.

Everything starts with your mind. Who you are now is a result of what you’ve been fed unconsciously by your family, society and your circle of influence or consciously by what you chose to feed to your mind in the past.

It’s our own thoughts and attitudes that determine how we look at the world and, ultimately, what we see.

The quality of your life is — the quality of the books you read — the quality of the people you surround yourself with — the quality of the relationships you build — and the quality of your understanding about the nature of reality.

Improve the quality of your mind and you will build a better life. “The difference between peak performance and poor performance is not intelligence or ability; most often it’s the state that your mind and body is in,” argues Tony Robbins.

Consider the mind as the blueprint of life, your actions the building blocks and your life the finished product. If the quality of your mind is compromised, your actions are inconsequential because your life will rest on poor foundations.

What brings out the worst is often as a result of perceptions, beliefs, principles and systems you’ve come to believe as the only truth.

Is it possible to adjust your perception or improve the quality of your mind so that you show up more often in situations that bring out the best? Absolutely.

But changing your mind doesn’t happen overnight. It starts with maintaining an open mind — the willingness to question your assumptions and principles.

We can improve our minds if we choose to — it’s not impossible but it can’t be rushed otherwise the brain will quickly assume the default state that is not serving you well.

The quality of your life is the quality of your mind

Improving the quality of your mind starts with learning new worldviews, principles, ideas, mindsets, perceptions and mental models.

When you expose yourself to a broad range of ideas, you heighten the chances of understanding yourself and the world differently. Improving the quality of your mind starts with reading thought-provoking books.

It starts with aiming to become better today than you were yesterday — reading great books, listening to thought-provoking podcasts, watching valuable videos, improving your circle of influence and learning from deep and smart thinkers. You can also learn from mindset experts through online courses and coaching. You become what you digest into your mind.

What you consume feed your mind and your mind feeds your life. Quality input will lead to quality output. Protect what enters your mind. Simple yet fundamental in everything you do. Train your mind consistently and the building blocks of life will stand on a firm foundation.

Success is a state of mind. We first make our minds, then our minds make us. If you can change your mind, you can change anything.

George Bernard Shaw, the Irish playwright and winner of the Nobel prize in literature (1925), was right when he said, “Those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.”

If you can’t change your mind, you can’t change anything about life.

You must be willing to change your mind if you want to improve the quality of your life. “Look at your own life. What habits or beliefs are no longer serving you? Identify them. Then, get rid of them. And finally, replace them with something that will help you,” says Darius Foroux. the quality of your habits is the quality of your life.

Limiting beliefs can sabotage your progress and performance in life. Small shifts in your thinking, and small changes in your habits, can lead to massive alterations of your end result.
