English Football Legend, Wayne Rooney retires after a 19-year career

Wayne Rooney began his career in 2002 for Everton spanning 19 years where the Manchester United star played 763 games scoring a massive 313 goals.

One of the legends of English football, highest scorer for Manchester United and for England, Wayne Rooney bid farewell after a splendid career of 19 years. The superstar has now shifted over to management duties.

He slammed 313 goals across his career of 763 games, wherein he struck 208 goals in the Premier League- second only to Alan Shearer. He stands tall in the list of highest scorers for Manchester United with 253 goals for the derby.

Although due to some injuries and poor tactics, the great failed to witness a trophy for his country. But the trophy cordon was never a problem at the club level, acquiring five Premier League titles, a Champions League title, three League cups, one FA Cup and a Europa League title. A quite a healthy list for any footballer to savour. Rooney played a crucial part when Manchester United hammered every team in Europe under Sir Alex Ferguson.

With his retirement, fans from all over the world bid adieu to him with love pouring from all over social media with some of the legends wishing him good luck for his next part of the journey in life. After his successful career, now Rooney is looking over to his coaching abilities and looks forward to achieving equivalent success for his club.
