Trump's app removed from the Google Play Store for a bizarre reason

It was removed from the Play Store and the reason is not what everyone would think.

The app was all about Trump, his event schedule, campaign news and ways one could donate for his campaigns.

Earlier this week, Google removed Donald Trump’s 2020 campaign app from the Google Play Store. However, it was not removed for obvious reasons. It was nowhere related to Trump’s Twitter account blocking or Instagram or Facebook. The main and primitive reason for the removal of the app was that it didn’t simply work.

The app was all about Trump, his event schedule, campaign news and ways one could donate for his campaigns, but at many points, it just stopped working, which made Google remove it from its Store.

A report by Android police confirmed that the app was non-functional before the removal. During its testing phase as well, it wasn’t unable to load content and just showed an endless spinning T circle.

Apps on the Store have to maintain a certain minimum functionality as per the policies, should be responsive and should load properly. The iOS app version is still up and running and is available on the App Store.

In an official statement, Google said that they tried to connect with the developers for the addressing of issues due to the stopping of the app.

People tried to connect the removal with political reasons, but it was purely due to the store’s policies and shortcomings of the application. It is the procedure and that’s what has been followed here.
