The huge buzz that had been created around WhatsApp’s new privacy policy has been answered by WhatsApp. The policy would come into effect from May 15th. As per reports, the messaging application has started sending in-app prompts to users for accepting the change. The notification alerts the users that the users won’t be able to use WhatsApp if they don’t accept the company’s policy by 15th May.

But still, there are doubts as to what would happen if users fail or deny to accept it when the prompt shows up. There has been some clarification in this regard by the company.

TechCrunch reviewed an email sent by WhatsApp to its merchant partner which said WhatsApp would gently ask the users to accept the policy who don’t accept it till 15th May to comply with its new terms. If the users still don’t accept the terms, for a small period, the users would not be able to send or receive messages in the app but would be able to receive calls and notifications.

The messaging app has updated its FAQ page to reflect the changes. It wrote that the policy for inactive users will apply to users who don’t accept its new ToS by 15th May.

There has been no info regarding how long users would be able to use the limited features post-non-acceptance. According to its policy for inactive users, users have 120 days or four months to accept the new ToS to have access to their accounts.
