The 26th edition of Hunar Haat to feature more than 600 artisans

Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, the Union Minister for Minority Affairs on Friday said that more than 600 artisans and craftsmen would be participating in the 26th edition of Hunar Haat organized by the Ministry of Minority Affairs from February 20 to March 1. The artisans from almost every state of the country would be participating in the Haat.
The Hunar Haat will be inaugurated by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on 21st February at 9.30 am in the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. The central theme of the exhibition will be ‘Vocal for Local’ and will be displaying and selling exquisite handmade products made by craftsmen and artisans.

According to the minister, the event has provided employment opportunities to more than five lakh artisans, artists and craftsmen. Products from all over the country would be on display during the event under one roof. Visitors can enjoy handmade products and regional cuisines and delicacies from every region of the country. Special musical and cultural programs are also planned by renowned artists from the country.
People can buy the products of indigenous artisans from the Government e-Marketplace portal where all the products would be available for purchase. The online launch of Hunar Haat has been welcomed by artisans as it brought large-scale online orders for their products.
Naqvi also added that the Ministry would provide opportunities for 7,50,000 artisans and craftsmen through the 2022 edition of Hunar Haat on the occasion of the 75th year of independence.
